How I help ESL teams

I work with ESL teams who need clarity at the curriculum and materials level – whether that means shaping a new syllabus, improving existing content, or making complex projects easier to deliver.

I’m particularly well suited to smaller teams who value sound pedagogy, clear structure, and calm, practical problem-solving over quick fixes or flashy solutions.

I’ve worked as a writer and editor with established education organisations, including exam and assessment providers such as Trinity College London, as well as long-term collaboration with Guided e-Learning (GEL).

My work so far includes:

Curriculum and syllabus support

I help teams analyse specifications, can-do descriptors, and learner goals, then turn them into coherent, buildable syllabuses and progression routes. This includes designing progression routes, identifying gaps or redundancies, and ensuring materials remain aligned as projects scale.

Materials development, editing, and QA

I work across the full materials lifecycle, from drafting and adaptation through to editing and quality assurance. My focus is on clarity, consistency, and level-appropriacy, particularly where content needs to function reliably across larger sets or exam-style formats.

Assessment-adjacent design

I support assessment-style content and progression models where criteria are clearly defined, including CEFR-aligned tasks, exam preparation materials, and structured practice. I’m particularly interested in how assessment requirements can shape syllabus and materials design upstream.

Workflow and process support

Where content work is being slowed down by unclear processes, I help teams introduce lightweight structures that improve visibility, reduce revision cycles, and support collaboration — without over-engineering systems or adding unnecessary complexity.

Use of AI and digital tools

I use AI and digital tools selectively as part of content and curriculum workflows – primarily to support drafting, variation, tracking, and quality control. All outputs are reviewed and refined by a human editor, and tools are only introduced where they clearly support pedagogical goals rather than driving them.

If you’re trying to turn teaching ideas into a workable syllabus or content system, I can help you plan clearly and move forward with confidence. I work well alongside curriculum teams, writers, and designers, helping translate educational goals into structures that are realistic to build and maintain.
