The challenge
A leading online language learning platform required the design and development of six full IELTS practice tests, covering all sections (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking), with an emphasis on high-quality scripts, audio production, and rigorous exam-style questioning.
The solution
✅ Wrote authentic IELTS-style texts, scripts and question sets on topics as diverse as street furniture, paprika, the concept of time, and the hash and ‘at’ symbols.
✅ Further developed, edited and adapted questions for texts and scripts from other writers.
✅ Managed audio script finalisation and recording studio coordination, including preparing recording instructions, overseeing communication, and handling post-production editing (e.g., integrating examiner prompts and refining audio segments)
✅ Conducted thorough copy editing and test validation for accuracy and reliability.

Innovative Tagging System for Syllabus Analysis
The challenge
A language platform needed a tool to map and align different syllabuses from major ESL publications, enabling teachers to quickly find and recommend supplementary materials tailored to their students’ learning needs.
The solution
✅ Designed a comprehensive tagging system for deep analysis of linguistic & functional elements.
✅ Integrated metadata tagging, linking lessons, skills, vocabulary, grammar points, and aims-based learning outcomes.
✅ Used the tagging system and its data insights to create a structured aims framework, which guided the development of new syllabuses and targeted learning materials.

Adaptive Testing Models for CEFR and Coursebook Curriculums
The challenge
The platform required two robust testing models: one offering incremental assessments mapped to CEFR levels from A1 to C1, and another providing end-of-unit tests aligned with over a dozen major ESL coursebook series.
The solution
✅ Developed two comprehensive testing models that integrated with aforementioned mapping system.
✅ Devised and managed a database of nearly 10,000 test questions and ensured level-appropriateness and pedagogical quality, with meticulous oversight of writing and editing processes.
